The StarTech 5.25″ Removable SATA Hard Drive/Mobile Rack Drawer (Black) offers a convenient hot-swap solution, allowing quick swaps of SATA hard drives without opening the computer case. Compatible with RAID installations, it ensures maximum performance and versatility. Key features include a front panel with a ball-bearing fan, aluminum construction, and over 25,000 insertion rating. The SATA III backplane supports transfer speeds up to 6 Gb/s, maximizing the performance of compatible SATA III hard drives. Installation is straightforward: mount a 3.5″ SATA HDD into the removable caddy and insert it into the drive bay installed in a 5.25″ bay of the host computer, with an option to lock the caddy to prevent unauthorized removal.
